Art, wine, and fundraising
Thank you to everyone who braved the wind and rain this evening to join us for a glass of wine and a preview of the art exhibition: 50 new paintings by Gerard M O’Keeffe.
We were delighted to be joined by the artist whose work is being showcased this weekend. Gerard happily chatted with our visitors and answered questions about the work on display – including some beautiful landscapes inspired by local panoramas. We are very grateful to Gerard for donating 50% of sales to the hub, with 20% going to our host St Andrew’s Church.
Thanks also to the Mayor of Cambridge, Mark Ashton, who came to support our event. Mark was very pleased to chat with Gerard and our guests about art, community life, and of course the new Cherry Hinton Hub. We enjoyed meeting lots of new people and even signed up a new volunteer!
We are extremely grateful to our visitors who supported us today and who very generously raised over £800. This means we’ll be able to add another blossom to our fundraising tracker. We look forward to welcoming more of the community to enjoy Gerard’s art over the next two days.
The exhibition is open at St Andrew’s Church on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd October from 1pm to 5pm. Just drop in!
