We very much appreciate the help we have had from Cherry Hinton and Cambridge businesses. Here are some of the organisations that have helped us :-

Our partnership with the Cambridge Building society has been invaluable. They have helped us a lot with publicity and we have been able to use their store to host our public”launch” events introducing us to residents and local businesses

We have worked with the library services all along. Cherry Hinton residents have worked for years to keep our library open knowing that many small libraries have been closed to save money. Building the Hub will ensure we have a refurbished library for years to come.

Engineering and Design Plastics in the high street near the library have been very supportive. They supplied plastic sheets for the display in the library window which were decorated by children.

Bellway has donated a large sum of money for which we are very grateful.

John Lewis have promised help with furniture and decor for the new cafe and meeting rooms

The Cambridge Council for Voluntary Service is a registered charity set up to champion and support community and voluntary groups, and promote volunteering across Cambridge City, South Cambridgeshire and Fenland. They have given us valuable advice.

Kids Club produced wonderful displays which until recently were visible in the library entrance. This included the “cherry tree” with attached cherry blossoms. Each blossom represented another £500 raised for the cafe.

We are a member of the Co-Operatives society and are bound by their values and principles

We subscribe to the Organisation For Responsible Business and we abide by their principles

We hope that the new facilities will benefit businesses in Cherry Hinton. As well as the cafe for a working lunch, the meeting rooms will be available for hire for such as a job interview or for meeting clients. Not forgetting our generous Cherry Hinton residents :-

Very many Cherry Hinton citizens really want the new cafe and Hub. Numerous small but significant contributions have been donated via bucket collections, the Just Giving webpage, EasyFundraising and bank transfers. A local artist Gerry O’Keeffe deserves a special mention. He gave us a huge percentage of money from sales of his pictures. Some are on display and on sale in Muir & Kerr’s hair salon
